Your social profiles are landing pages. Optimize them.
Every good post sends strangers to your profile — where most brands lose them. Bios, pins, and links that convert the visit.
Teams polish every post and ignore the page all those posts point to. But that's the actual funnel: a post earns attention, the curious tap your name, and the profile decides whether they follow, click through, or leave. Your profile is a landing page with a permanent audience — and most companies treat it as a form they filled in once in 2022.
The bio is positioning, compressed
You get one or two lines to say who you help and with what. Write it like a value proposition, not a slogan: specific audience, specific outcome, in your brand voice. “Performance marketing for SaaS and e-commerce” tells a visitor whether they're home; “passionate about growth” tells them nothing.
Pin your best argument
Pinned posts are the hero section of the profile: the first content every visitor sees. Pin the piece that best demonstrates what you do — a strong teardown, a flagship customer story, your most useful guide — and refresh it when something better exists. Random latest-post-as-first-impression wastes the slot.
Make the one link work
Send profile clicks somewhere that matches why they came — a relevant hub or landing page, not a generic homepage. If you use a link-in-bio page, treat it with landing-page discipline: a few clear options, your primary action first, no dead ends.
Profiles are searched, not just visited
People search platforms — and increasingly AI assistants — for what you do, not your name. Include the words buyers actually use in your bio and name field where natural. It's on-page SEO at miniature scale, and most competitors haven't done it.
Audit quarterly, because drift is silent
Old campaign links, a bio describing last year's positioning, a pinned post about a closed offer — profile rot is invisible from inside. Put a quarterly fifteen-minute review on the calendar: bio accurate, pin current, link working, visuals on-brand.
